It's very hard to search with the details you posted, does the iron have a brand/model name?
Keyboard error: Press F1 to continue.

They're typically copies of a Hakko 936, so you'd be looking for a 900M-T-3.2D (width = 3.2mm). Highly doubt it's a genuine Hakko, but it's in the UK and they ship worldwide, so should be quicker to you I would think than HK or China.

You can also get an assortment cheap (not genuine Hakko). Example. Would be worth it IMHO, if just to try others (no such thing as a one-size-fits-all tip).

Also, Hakko has a Tip Selection Page that might be of interest.

With the tip dimensions given it's most likely a firestick of some sort. Without a brand/model, a picture would certainly help.

I did buy a clone made by Tenma (I believe the abbreviation really means ten manufacturers)

It's a Hakko 936 clone and it takes Hakko genuine tips.

So I did buy a large mass conversion kit (not sure from where anymore) and an extra 5 900L-T-3.2D chisel tips at a discount from Tequipment (not sure if they still carry them).

Now it can deal with anything due to the upgraded thermal mass. I do sometimes use the original enclosure and tip (cone) but very rarely. Just don't touch the ceramics or if you do clean them because the grease in your hands is not good for it.

Picture after the conversion:

Detail of the conversion kit (but not the purchasing place and I forgot where it came from):

Edit: I recall where I got it:

I was going to get it from tequipment but they didn't have the conversion kit anymore, but I did buy 5 extra tips from them because they had them in the discount bin (not anymore)

But now it seems they have the conversion kit in stock:

Definitely not a Hakko 936 clone,

This is what the clone 907 enclosure, nut and tip looks like before I changed it to the Hakko branded 908 large mass one:

Edit: Like ~{felix the cat) mentioned, it will help if you give a brand/model of the iron.

That's definitely not a Hakko clone.

As others have requested, please post the details on the iron (exact model number, and a link to it would be even better), and we might have a chance at pointing you in the right direction. Just shots in the dark otherwise.

Check it for a brand name and model number. Box should be handy for this, if you still have it. Reason is, even firesticks can vary regarding tips (i.e. physical dimensions, and how it's mounted).

Yup, they look like generic cheap 'firestick' tips. I presume they're either friction-fit or are held in with a screw through the side of the barrel?

That style of iron is sold in hardware stores everywhere, so you may be able to find tips there. Depending on who made the iron (or who they copied!), they came in a bunch of different diameters (including some very similar sizes e.g. 2.9mm, 3mm, 3.2mm, 1/4", etc). Without any sort of idea of who made it you'll have to measure carefully and maybe take a punt on what will suit.

Failing that, this might give you some ideas for further searching.

(I've got some old unused Weller bevel tips of about the right size and in their original packaging ... um, somewhere. I'll try and find them over the weekend and pass on any details.)
