How to choose ir led?? mW/sr? forward current?
« on: April 14, 2016, 07:04:19 am »

Until now I got my IR leds from ebay by searching ie: "1W 940nm led".
But, what if I want to buy from mouser/digikey/rs??  How do I know how much "light" the led emits?

By checking the datasheet. You'll usually find an Intensity vs. Forward Current graph there.

When you go to those sites they have a table oriented product selector, and radient intensity
a column in the chart. Sortable, searchable......
