How to wire a Current Transformer
« on: August 13, 2018, 05:22:04 am »
Hi All,

Is there anything else that i would need when using a Current Transformer ? I will be using this with an arduino to measure AC current of a Spot welder. The current schematic of the Current Transformer is from its data sheet (http://www.tamuracorp.com/clientuploads/pdfs/engineeringdocs/L06PXXXS05.pdf)

The optocoupler is to sense when the electrodes are shorted for a spot weld.

That is not a current transformer, but rather a hall effect current sensor. Yes, your connection method is correct.
<fellbuendel> it's arduino, you're not supposed to know anything about what you're doing
<fellbuendel> if you knew, you wouldn't be using it
