Info about basic BJT transistor circuit building blocks

Can anyone please recommend a web site or book which comprehensively covers the subject?  I can find lots of info on logic but want to know more about circuits like darlington pair and totem pole for example.  What others exist? 

I am not asking about logic gating circuits such as AND/OR/NOT etc.

you will need to allow java, but the logic section shows working examples of the types of logic, and even internal mechanisms of sequential and combination logic chips
