Intel on-site interview
« on: April 14, 2015, 03:42:06 am »
Hello! A couple of months ago I made a post about a phone interview I was going to have with Intel. It went well thanks to your tips, but I was still 1 semester away from graduating, so the person that interviewed me told me to contact him again around march-april to interview me again. Time passed by and I studied/made projects about some of the topics that he asked me (mainly how to make a design go faster). I contacted him again and he scheduled another interview for last week, but this time with a person from the US (the Intel facility i'm applying to is in Mexico). The interview went waaaay better since I had acquired a lot more experience in the last few months, and so today I got a call from them again. They want to interview me on-site next week and I'm super excited and scared :scared: What do you think I should expect? Do you have any tips like the ones on Dave's videos? The interviews I've had so far have been highly technical. The position is for a pre-silicon validation engineer.
Thanks!!!

If your person to person interview is at their campus in Beaverton, Oregon?

Don't be scared, think of it this way, if things go bad, you were looking for work when you got that call. Nothing will have changed, no reason to be scared.  Now, if they pick you up from the airport, there are dressed in black and wear sunglasses even indoors, and they escort you to a black SUV, then be VERY scared.

Seriously though, just relax, try and talk to the person as if you've known them forever.  They can sense fear!

This is the first time I've been interviewed this way. Do you have any experiences to share?

enthusiasm and willingness to work. Prove your worth in the workplace itself after you are hired. Find the most efficient way to work using their system. That can sometimes be hard as with my internship ordering a part from the back room can take from a few hours to a week or so. and with a high-school I went to they had the most unorganized system that I could not figure out ( I am not one to ask for help usually as I try not to be a nuisance) but if you need help that will make you more efficient in the future GET IT! Stay professional at the in person interview.

Here is a video my current school has provided that may help you out a bit with your interview. Hope this helps, and good luck!
