IR reciver and transmitter Question
« on: July 13, 2014, 02:39:01 pm »
hello.. i have a question about IR recivers and transmitters ..
this is the circuit i want to build   http://www.circuitstoday.com/infrared-intrusion-barrier

i want to build two of these but i dont want them to mix together..for example the TX(1) to the RX(2)..
does the IR reciver works only for  a specific frequency? or can i change it?
if i can ,,can someone tell me how?also, how can i control the distance?

The TSOP1836 IR receiver only receives around 36KHz, so if you use this receiver and another IR  receiver that responds to a different frequency, in this case you might get it to work.

The most common sizes for carrier frequency are 36 kHz, 37.9 kHz, 38 kHz and 40 kHz. We also carry infrared receivers with carrier frequency up to 56 kHz.

choose  another one that is away from 36kHz like 40KHz

keep in mind that you will need to adjust the frequency of the transmitter to send at 40KHz.

for controlling the distance you can change R5 and R6, this will control the current going to the IR transmitter which will control the distance.
