Yes, if it works. Cosmetically it looks in nice condition, the front anyway. The guide price around here is around £1 per MHz (that might be $ or EUR though).

Manuals, including Service, here: http://www.ko4bb.com/getsimple/index.php?id=manuals&dir=Philips

P.S. The last forum thread on it, there are others if you do a search: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/beginners/pm3055-oscilloscope-psu-removalrepair-(caps)-and-general-usage-questions/msg1177257/#msg1177257

Just wondering, when you said "te pictures show what i could get for  that price", did you mean that whole box [EDIT: Crate] for Eur 30 or just the scope?

Wow! Well I can see a Philips function generator (bottom case damage?) but also what looks like a decent milling head, bore dial gauge etc, which you could sell individually to fund a very nice soldering station and ESD mat.  :)

Probably ebay I guess, unless you have a mechanical engineering dealer close. It's hard to see exactly what you've got there, I think that's a milling head (whatever it is, it's complete anyway). Pressure gauge and piping, bore gauge, who knows what else is buried further down. you could be talking several hundred EUR. Maybe you can take some higher resolution photos and single out individual items other's can chime in too with identifications and estimates.

Worst case, you'd easily make your EUR 30 back!

You just need to make sure stuff doesn't get smashed in transit. Good luck.  :)

Grab it while you can, sell the stuff you don't need on marktplaats and give me a nice deal on a set of those dept-gauges.  ;)

That depends on the condition and use-ability, best look on ebay for comparable stuff, some tools might be more specialized than others and less suitable for the average buyer.
See if you can find some model numbers and ask google.  :)

Buying this mitutoyo stuff new would have cost a arm and a leg tho..

Some friends of mine own a machine shop, they have a bunch of Mitutoyo instruments that I don't even touch, they cost a fortune so I use the cheap tools or stuff that someone else has already abused. The problem with that sort of stuff is once it has been dropped or banged around it often is never the same again.

It is typical on this bidding site (I have seen the same lot of you) to have low start prices but mostly the prices will increase massively 10 minutes before closing.

A bid price while an auction is in progress is nothing more than a number, unless you have some inside info. If the seller thinks there is a good market for the goods they will start the bidding low just to gain a lot of attention. There are likely equipment dealers watching that know exactly what that stuff is worth. Bidding early on a closed time auction does nothing but push up the price.

With online auctions I've never understood why people bid at all early on, other than maybe a token bid to track the item. I've seen bidding wars break out with days remaining and unless I'm the seller I can only shake my head. All it does is drive the price up.

That said, I've also never understood why ebay doesn't have an option to extend the auction by a few minutes each time a bid comes in near the end, that would eliminate sniping and likely result in a higher sale price.

To the OP: unless money is really short, for this price I would take the first box - if anything, you may have some interesting projects or spare parts.

That said, I've also never understood why ebay doesn't have an option to extend the auction by a few minutes each time a bid comes in near the end, that would eliminate sniping and likely result in a higher sale price.
Although it makes perfect sense from a financial standpoint, I suspect the majority of customers dislike but tolerate auctions (in favor of Buy it now). I suspect that doing this would scare away even more potential customers.

Oh, the "whys" of the datasheets... The information is there not to be an axiomatic truth, but instead each speck of data must be slowly inhaled while carefully performing a deep search inside oneself to find the true metaphysical sense...

I like auctions if it's for something I can't just go out and buy. For most older gear I'd rather bid it up to whatever I'm willing to pay than have it sit there for months at some fantasy price. With an auction stuff typically sells for the actual value rather than what the seller thinks it's worth.
