LCD Repair
« on: March 21, 2015, 10:05:32 am »
what is the most common faults with LCD monitor power supplies?
I have a Prolite E1908WS.
When I turn it on it flashes the image makes a small noise then goes out again but the signal light stays on.
I took it apart :-+ and powered the lamps with an inverter from a scanner and it worked, so it is not the lamps that is funny.
the capacitors are also OK

Capacitors are OK or just look not bulged? Second most common fault is CCFL transformer. Secondary winding(s) must measure about 1k resistance. If it is open, transformer is faulty.

Just because the capacitors don't look bulged doesn't mean they are good.  The ESR can be very high.  An LCR meter can tell you if the ESR is too high.
