Leader Oscilloscope question.
« on: August 05, 2017, 12:35:14 am »
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if the screen surround can be removed from a Leader LBG-518 scope without dismantling the front panel?
I have a cracked protective window that I want to replace but I can't see any way to remove the surround.

Thanks,

Hi,

Strangely enough I just took mine off yesterday to clean it.

There are 3 screws under the label on top of the screen. If you pull the sticker almost off so it is still attached on an end, it will be easier to fit back in the right place.

Then when it comes off, the screen is retained by a plastic besel on the inside that you can carefully pull out. It's secured in the corners with a friction fit lug.

There should be a metal spring at the bottom that fits in two little slots that presses on the bottom of the screen as well.

Hope that helps.
Ash.

Oh, also I have a service manual for this if you haven't found it yet.

Also, I think you mean LBO-518?

Ash.

Thanks Ash,
Don't know why I didn't think to check under the label.
Glued up the crack, should keep the dust out. It would be nice to replace the screen cover but I doubt that parts would be available.
And yes it is an LBO
I have found a copy of the service manual, hope I don't need it.
Cheers
