looking for a connector
« on: December 08, 2016, 10:09:05 am »
Hello

I'm trying to find a female connector similar to the tall ones used in this photo:

the entire page link is : http://www.nixieclock.org/?p=411

I could only find something like this: http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/418/NG_CD_66504_AP-691769.pdf

the one i found has a crimp-able end, instead of a solder pin.
i could crimp it over a 0.5 - 1mm wire then solder that wire in, or i could just crimp it with no wire and use the crimped end as a  solder terminal.

any other hints on what to look for ?  the tube's pin is 1mm in diameter and i need at least a height of 11-12mm to clear the tube's end

Looks like the sort of thing mill-max specialise in?

https://www.mill-max.com/product_finder/1

Of course the mill-max stuff is expensive so it is probably a cheaper version, but if you only need small quantities....

Regards, Dan.

Searching on "tube socket pins" brings up some possibilities to look at.  At least looking through the image search results.
