low profile female header?
« on: September 24, 2018, 07:48:00 pm »
I was watching one of Dave's videos and noticed connector I didn't see before: female, low-profile, smd with pins going through it (so the board has to have holes).

It looks like using it I can make distance between the boards substantially small than using conventional headers. I'm curious if I can buy one as well? Does anyone have any relevant part number or something? So far I failed to find anything on aliexpress or tme.eu (with 2.54 pitch).

Samtec have a part like that, used them on a few projects, see the SSM series.

I suspect that is a knock off however, the Samtec part not being the cheapest thing in the world.

Regards, Dan.

Thanks for helping! I checked SSM series, looks like it has 7.32mm height, which feels like a standard width for headers. It does have holes at the bottom.

Using digikey I found https://www.digikey.nl/product-detail/en/harwin-inc/M20-7811045R/952-3227-2-ND/6564963 . Looks like what I was looking for.
