Maynuo M9712 Elec Load Spec question
« on: December 16, 2015, 01:47:36 am »
Hi, I'm playing around with the M9712.  I have it hooked up to a 1.5 AA cell and set to CR.

The display switches from  CR to Unreg when I get up to about 63 ohms.  I checked the specs and it says,

"CR Mode (Voltage and current input value >or= to 10% full measurement)  What does this mean ?

Since I can place the cell across a 100 ohm resistor and  measure the current I'm starting to wonder if something is  wrong with the M9712.

Please help with my ignorance, thank you.

I think I figured it out.  Unreg is not necessarily an error condition. It just means that the load doesn't need to regulate (reduce) the current.  At the larger R values it needs as much current as it can get so it adjusts the voltage(up to the max voltage of the supply/cell)  to meet the CR value.

I still don't know what full measurement  means.

OTOH I might be off base here.
