MC34063 question
« on: June 24, 2017, 11:44:20 pm »
lets say i want to make a step up circuit with a 34063, like on page 5 of the datasheet https://www.onsemi.com/pub/Collateral/MC34063A-D.PDF

so I have a positive voltage out (right?), I know where that would go. But what about negative voltage? Do I need to construct a separate circuit to get an inverted voltage? Or would I use ground to substitute for the negative voltage?

Why do you need a negative voltage? Most circuits are powered with a positive voltage and 0V. The 0V is usually the ground in the circuit.

ok so it would be the ground in the example circuit. i was thinking of AC! just now realized that. yeah i meant DC. thank you!
