Mini air compressor voltage rating, salvaged from soldering station

Hi All!

Anyone knows on what voltage compressor in the attachment works, i salvaged it from Gordak 952-A soldering station, there was no electronics inside so i couldnt figure it out for my self

Same coloured wires - maybe AC?

Perhaps try 12VAC then 24VAC and see what happens.


Is there any name, part number etc on it?

It will be the local mains you have, or what was marked on the label on the case. Inside there will be a coil and a magnet attached to the diaphragm, with some reed valves to direct airflow.

Measure the DC resistance of the coil, and see what it is, it will probably be around 300R to 2K, depending on how thin the wire is.

Hey All!

i couldnt find any markings either in case it was in or on it, i know whole unit was used on 220v and i found some pictures of the electronics and it seems it is turned on by a small relay still cant figure out if relay was taking power from transformer, which is rated 26VAC it seems, or the grid guess ill have to find some AC source of about 24VAC  and give it a go. Also i measured resistance between the wires it reads 420?.

It seems a lot like the ones found on Aoyue stations, they are 24Vac
