So, i need to power something running at 24v , from a 5v power supply, (The arduino). Is this possible? And if so, how?

You might be going about this the wrong way. The Arduino is a computer, not a power supply. It consumes power, it does not supply it. If you want to control something running at 24 V it is best to provide a dedicated 24 V supply for that item and then have the Arduino send control signals to it (while making sure you don't feed 24 V back into the Arduino and blowing it up).

As lewis said, a boost convertor would work, as long as the Audrino's ability to supply current was respected.

Or you could do what IanB said. Approaches include using a transistor as a switch or using an OpAmp.
