I just started a video series on FPGA, specifically based on Terasic DE10-Standard board.
This series will be in 5~6 videos, covering introduction, FPGA getting started, HPS getting started and Qsys getting started.
Finally, a demonstration project will be provided as a downloadable zip file as well as a separate video.
The final project will be a simple music player based on Linux running in HPS, the decoded audio data is dumped to a DSP code block to do interpolation and sigma delta modulation.
Modulated data is then sent to FPGA to be serialized, the then serialized bit stream can then be low pass filtered to reconstruct analog signal.
This series will only cover how to use the board and Quartus II, as this series will not cover anything about Verilog, DSP theory, sigma delta modulation or Linux programming other than absolute minimum that's needed to explain the workflow.
This series targets:
1. People with VHDL or Verilog experience, but have never used Altera tools and want to learn Altera's workflow;
2. People with Altera FPGA experience, but want to learn new concepts such as SoC and Qsys.
3. People with no prior experience, and just want to see what modern FPGA SoCs can do.
