I want to build a ATX converted bench power supply.
I like this instructional video by Great Scott.

But he does not use any fuses on the power lines.
I know seeed sudio sells this break out board with polyswitch resettable fuses on the power lines. http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/ATX-breakout-board-bench-power-supply-p-1222.html
I like the idea, but I want to build everything in the atx case with resetable fuses using a through hole package.

I looked on octopart and found some fuses but cant find any through hole resettable fuses with the same specs as seedstudio.

My question is what would be an acceptable spec for a through hole resettable fuses for this project.  ie trip amperages, etc

Another questions.   Seed studio basically uses one wire for each power line, ir 5v, 12, 3.3, for each output post.   But great scott cuts all the lines and bundles all  the like kind voltage lines together.  what does that do the amperage?  ie 1 wire of 5 volts = 2 amps, 2 wires bundled of 5v= 4 amps, etc.   Am I thinking of this correctly for the amperages?

Also, any tips or other plans that are better I would be open to suggestions.

Thanks.

You might be better off looking up an adjustable current limit circuit there are tones of them useing a lm317. If its a lab supply you want to be able to varied it so you can adjust it so you don't blow something up if you short something on a new board or something like that. For some things you might want 10ma limit others you might want 2amps.

cheap souse for parts.
