New project looking for a particular component.
« on: July 13, 2013, 07:24:09 pm »
I thought of a really cool project to do with my PIC micro controllers.  One thing that has always interested me was EMF (Electromagnetic Fields).  Ultimately I would like to build a meter that can measure EMF in a given area.  I have done some searching and I can't seem to find a component that can do such a task.  I was wondering if anyone knows the name of such a component or is it possible to build my own discrete circuit to get the same results?

Search for "Field Strength Meter", and you'll find some good starting points.

Also have a look at "electric field mill"

This looks interesting http://saturn.ece.ndsu.nodak.edu/ecewiki/index.php/Group_249
