Nokia 6610 / 6100 color lcd
« on: January 17, 2017, 04:07:19 pm »
Anyone knows where to get these?

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/retired/569

At one time these were easily available and a good deal for diyers who wanted to integrate them in their projects.

There are few shops on ebay that sell them in small quantities but they are getting rarer by the day even Sparkfun has stopped selling them.

Anyone knows any good reliable source or are there any alternatives?

Aliexpress or Banggood.

OK! thanks for the input.

I see that these are using the ST7735, that's fair enough, I was under the impression that the nokia one's used the Epson S1D15G10 or Philips PCF8833 Controller.
I would like to hear from folks that have used this one or any of the Nokia one's just to get their first hand experience about it.

ST7735 is a very similar command set to the PCF8833, although it uses 2-byte pixel addresses.

That's some really good info.
So currently is the ST7735 the only available choice? are there any other LCD's with controllers as popular as the ST7735?

wow I found a broken nokia 610 (yes 610) ages ago that had smashed outer glass. So today I took it apart and the LCD screen inside is perfect, not a scratch. Once I hook up 3.7V I hope it will work and be able to play games on it pr something. Otherwise what a waste of a nice screen and stuff
