Hi you all,

I have a few pictures of a optical sensor (i think), which is part of a (cheap eBay) barcode scanner (YHD-8200). I don't know much about how they where working, so i opened it up to see. There is a moving mirror with a laser, somehow this sensor is able to read the reflection? I like read more about the type of sensor and how it works.

I tried googling the scanner but couldn't find much.... :(

Thanks a bunch!

The optic at lower right is a beam splitter. The upper mirror on a pivot is a "wiggler" that bounces back and forth by the electromagnet to its left pulsing on and off. That movement is what scans the laser across the barcode. Light reflecting from the barcode bounces back off the wiggler and enters the beam splitter again. This time half of the light bounces over to the detector.

Ah , great!  Im looking for beam splitter (the one on the yellow circle, right?)  but i can't find any components that look like this.

You have any pointer to a component like that?

Thanks!
