OVC3860 battery charger

Hi,
i got the blk-md-spk-b with the OVC3860 chip. It's a nice chip, but now I want to charge a 200mah battery. At this page they say i have to connect the battery to VBAT and GND. Yes the chip is running. To charge the chip they say connect 5v + to CHG and 5v - to GND. But when I connect the 5v, the chip turns of. That means music stops playing immediantely and power consumption is 0ma. What is wrong? Can you help me? Have a nice day
