You can drill nicely without any modifications after some practice, however you can use a small LED in the hole where the drill goes and that lights up the PCB from below and you can see better where you have to drill, just lower the top part of the Proxxon till the drill almost touches the PCB and that makes easier to drill and get the PCB in right position.

About the bits, I won’t be much help I guess because I am using second hand carbide bits which are sharpen I get them here in the Netherlands.

Perfect...

Netherlands.....
Forget the drill bits.

Please.... find me a nice set of E188CC's to buy.    La Radiotechnique preferred, but Philips / Amperex, Heerlen plant will do. ;D

I appreciated the Proxxon photos you posted.  That helped and I'm headed to your Youtube channel.

I will officially close this thread.

Thanks

I use a dremel freehand with carbide bits, and have done thousands of boards that way.

The dremel press is totally useless, and I switch it out for a Silverline budget drill press that works a charm....but still prefer doing my PCB drilling freehand.

Hi,
My hands have tremors, so freehand is out.  It would look like graffiti.
I need a rock solid press.

I do appreciate your post and recommendation.
