Just wondering if anyone can ID this 3 pin plug..

Looks similar to an IP68 3 pin connector but the one you show has a key.

What is it for? that will help narrow the search.

It could be (almost) anything, and as miguelvp suggests, posting what it connects to/does/brands will help.

It does look a bit like a "TINY XLR", but could be a version of the "M8" industrial connector.
