Pocket multimeters
« on: May 08, 2011, 08:05:30 am »
I am thinking of getting a pocket multimeter - maybe not quickly, but if the need for a multimeter starts arising in odd places frequently I might change my mind over this.

I would be looking at one with frequency and capacitance functions, as well as voltage and resistance. Are there any particular models to look towards or to avoid? The Amprobe PM51A is not a bad price here.

Those Amprobe meters looks pretty decent, worth a try at the price.

I use a cheap Chinese Mastech meter for that but wouldn't use it for high energy circuits or mains.

You can consider the BK Precision 2700 3-1/2 digit with bargraph though without a capacitance meter http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/BK-Precision/2700/?qs=OfNnNsH3l7uJZoPcymEwIQ%3d%3d
