Pot marking Q
« on: November 20, 2014, 11:08:43 am »
I found some nice Piher pots at a garage sale. They are marked "1M - 812M PIHER"

They seem to be linear taper as they read about .5m at the halfway position and about 1m at full position.

My question:
I know the "1M" refers to its rating of 1 megohm but what does the "812M" marking mean? Or, is that just some sort of stock number?

http://sound.westhost.com/pots.htm   something for you to check out on your way round :)

i wouldnt worry too much about the rest of what is printed as there does seem to be a lot of debate elsewhere on forums about what it is used for.

Maybe contact Piher or search for a datasheet ?

It could simply be a date code...

If your pot is marked "White Widow", it is good stuff! :)
