Hi
First post, long time viewer...
I have designed a PCB which should output 9,5VDC and 5VDC.. it does not.. Bare in mind this i my first PSU and first big design
I got 230VAC from the mains through a fuse to the transformer. The transformer then outputs 6,3VAC and 12,6VAC. Both outputs then gets rectified to DC (7,5V and 16,5V), the problem is when I power it up, the 12,6VAC fuse blow (keep reading, i did find the reason) with no load on any of the rails.. The 6,3VAC/7,5VDC power up just like it should and turn on the 6,3V LED indicating everything is OK. but so does the 12,6V LED. Somehow the 7,5VDC end up on the 16,5VDC. No short circuits. Both Rectifiers looks to be good
The reason the 12,6VAC fuse blows is it trying to charge up the capacitor bank on the 7,5VDC rail and overloading the fuse
Anyone having an idea why my rails are mixing together?
