Pull down resistor on an RS422 receiver
« on: April 22, 2016, 09:25:47 pm »
Hello,

If you could ahve a look at the attached circuit I have a 3 pin connector for an RS422 half-duplex signal and this is connected to a TI AM26LS33ACN (datasheet here: http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1962946.pdf). However if there is nothing connected to the 3 pin connector, then according ot the receiver function table it outputs a high. What I'm wanting instead is for this to output a low.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I think I need to put a pull down resistor between pin 1 and ground, and another between pin 2 and ground. I'm not sure if this is the correct way, or what resistor values to use?

Thank you.  :-+
