When i start to define the pin of the microcontroller (LPC824, TSSOP20), I get confused that there are more than one type in each pins, like pin 19 got IO and A, so what should i put in the 'electrical type' .
my way is you put the name "IO/A/etc" in "Component Description" or "Designator" or "Display Name", if you like me, i want "Display Name" and "Designator" to be simple such as "IO" or "PB1" or whatever. and the for multipurpose pin like this you just leave the electrical type as default or "passive". this is during component making. when you put the component in schematic (after compilation) for real application, you double click the component, uncheck "lock pins", click ok, and double click the pin, you may choose the suitable type for your particular application, such as "input" if you want set the pin as adc, or digital input. or set the pin as "output" if its an output. ymmv.
