Question about transformer ?

I see that some transformer have the ratio between primary and secondary coil in 1:1. According to theory, I think they won't produce these transformer. But in practical, They still using this type of transformer. Can you explain me why, and its application ? Thanks :)

This is an isolation transformer.

Sometimes used "inter-stage" for de-coupling too.
And for pulse transformers too.

Yes they provide isolation in many applications.
