Remote control buttons design type.

Attached is a picture of a rf remote control I've got.
As can be seen the only thing that holds the buttons is the glossy sticker.

I would like to know how this design of push buttons is called and where I can get these.

I found myself very interested in the design of this rf remote control (combo of remote (dual ir & rf), keyboard and gyroscope) based on Nordic Semiconductor nRF24LE1.

This kinda crappy cheapest-possible-way-to-make-a-button switch is custom made by dome-deforming punched metal strips, try using membrane switches or mechanical single station switches instead, much more easier on the fingers, have a nice feel and are more reliable.

I easily salvage all the push button controls I could possibly need from discarded home entertainment equipment such as VCR and DVD players or 56k modems or even a CRT tube TV or a now tiny in size LCD monitor.

Been looking into keypads myself lately. Google membrane keypads and youll find quite a few companies that make many different styles including this one.

Those are called "tactile domes". They're probably the lowest-profile tactile switch design available.

I prefer them to membrane pads, as they're a lot clickier in feel.

wouldnt be a better idea to use capacitive buttons? no wear on them thats for sure

Tact buttons are under a cent each in bulk, and need no extra complex analogue sense and decode electronics to work.

Consider the application when choosing buttons.
Touch sensors suck on tv remotes where membrane works better because you can feel the button press without looking.
Whenever possible I like to use switches like the cherry ML brand, they have some that fit well for remotes.
