resistor divider calculator/selector
« on: May 30, 2015, 02:33:37 pm »
Does anyone know of a resistor divider calculator that allows you to enter an input voltage, a range for the output voltage, and the resistors such that you can enter in some values and get equivalent resistor selections from standard E* series?

Hope this makes sense.

Here's my favourite one:

It works with potential dividers with three resistors.

Great links.  Who needs math these days.

This one is the best: http://mustcalculate.com/electronics/automaticresistivevoltagedivider.php

There's also this one: http://jansson.us/resistors.html

This one produces spread sheets showing the results to your problem, and the tool keeps a log book of all your problems; and you can keep it on your computer.
Written in c++ for a dos console.

I actually prefer Electro Droid, an Android app with different calculators, references and connector data.
It can calculate most thins that you need including voltage dividers, LED-resistors, NE555-setup, RC-filters and many other things, as well as containing most common connectors and a number of reference sheets for connectors, maximum current for cable dimensions and component footprints
