Hello friends,
I am a hobbyist in electronics, I wanted to design a multicolor festival lights with 5mm or 3mm LED lights in circle (blinking the same way as the Christmas star in the video below but in a circle).
I don’t want to use arduino or any other programmable microcontroller (as I don’t have any knowledge of it), I just want to use basic IC’s such as 555 timer or some other. I will power it via wall-wart. I want to make 12inch Diameter circle using around 200 or more LEDs. I found a similar project here
http://homemadecircuitsandschematics.blogspot.in/2012/10/200-led-reverse-forward-light-chaser.html.
I just want to blink the LEDs in multiple colors in reverse and forward (center of the circle to edge and reverse) or any other pattern. Does anyone have any schematic for such projects, as I have Googled but found many articles such as this
http://www.eleccircuit.com/led-chaser-by-ic-4017-ic-555/ which only use less than 50 LEDs. Is it possible to build this circuit with 200 or more LED without using arduino or any other programmable microcontroller.
Kindly let me know about any such schematic.
Thanks in advance & Regards,
Shivram10
PS: - I can increase or decrese the number of LEDs as required, I don’t want to use SMD LED strip. This is a weekend project, just to keep me busy and brush up my electronics skill.
