Safe then sorry
« on: August 30, 2015, 08:57:10 am »
I have been thinking about buying a air re-flow/ heat gun station specific the one Dave showed off on his Channel a long time ago.

But the wall socket thing is the wrong kind but it says it can handle 220V -+10% and the standard where i live is 220–240 V 50 Hz.

and maximum voltage it should be able to handle is 242V and the Hz is the corrects one. could I just snip off the wrong plug and mount the one I use here. I'm 99% certain that is the case but when it comes to high voltage I'd rather be 100% certain, especially now when I'm just getting started.

thinking about getting a next pay check.

heard these Hako clones are quite good and the cheap soldering station i have now is well "ok" so far. it's mostly the hot air station that i need for de-soldering an some SMD work (i love small circuits so SMD is the way to go"

And now a hot-air station is on the way and I'm nerdily excited of all the possibilities.
