sainsmart 7inch TFT LVDS issues
« on: December 23, 2014, 09:35:24 am »
Hey, has anybody else bought those cheapish 7inch 800x480 LCD panels shipped from china ? All the stock images seem to show it at a reasonable image quality, but when I built mine, the image quality was exceptionally low. The colours also morphed when the LVDS cable flexed. Im new to tinkering so I really have no idea as to where to start troubleshooting or what the problem may be.

is your flat-flex cable placed precisely and secured tightly in the connector ? on the picture it looks like it's not even perpendicular to the connector.

I reconnected the flex connector, pushing it as far in as I could, but the image quality is still subpar. Thinking it might be due to an analog input, i plugged it into my Xbox via HDMI. The image quality is still pretty poor. The connector is held tightly and I cant push it in further:

I followed this video as the build guide, pulled out the connector tabs, pushed in the flex connector, then pushed in the tabs:

Are you using a proper resolution a refresh frequency for your module? is your board programmed for your tft panel?
