Send and recevie data to and from nodes in LWmesh or WSNDemo

Hi,
 I have worked with WSNDemo application of LWmesh .I got coordinator and router functioning.Now I am trying to build an application in such a way that when coordinator send  the string "request"  to router it should reply with  the string "reply".In WSNDemo code where can I include the comparison of  string and return the response string.
Also how can I receive PC rs232 data in coordinator?Are there any function in wsndemo for receiving data from PCKindly suggest a solution
