Siglent SDS1102X Firmware
« on: January 17, 2016, 04:33:14 pm »
Hello All. I have done a cursory search and reading for the Siglent SDS112X scope as I hope to purchase one for home use in the next few days. A quick note that I have used numerous electronic equipment over the years but I am primarily a university teacher and researcher in physics. The intended scope is for some fun projects at home.
My main takeaway is that its price per feature is excellent but you get what to pay for especially in terms of firmware.
My major question concerns this, as I've noted that most reviews site this as a negative of these lower cost scopes.
Siglent came up with an update recently; I thought it was for their 2000's series but some posts mention this applies to the 1102x as well. Is this true?
How buggy is this scope? is it something that shows up primarily at its limits? or is it an issue even within normal range; let say analyzing a 100ns squarewave with around 2ns rise time?
