Signal conditioning

Is analog signal conditioning for sensors and measurement systems going to be replaced completely with ADCs and DSP or will it be around for some time despite the constant digital advances in speed and power consumption ? Can you recommend a good book on signal conditioning ?

I'm not an expert but I would imagine it would always be around for simple circuits like sensors and low cost/complexity devices.
I'm legally blind so sometimes I ask obvious questions, but its because I can't see well.
