Small LCD Panel emitting lots of EMF

I have a camera, and a synthesizer which both have small LCD screens, and they emit a lot of electromagnetic radiation. A very low (maybe ~20hz), noisy, pulsing ringing sound. Why do small panels like these do this and big screens like my monitor don't emit at all, and is there any way to mitigate this?
