SMALL multimeter
« on: April 12, 2016, 06:20:03 pm »
Hello all!
I'm looking for a small dimension multimeter. I don't really need it to be to accurate.
I mainly use the "beep" function, so if its loud Id be happier.
I really don't use my current multimeter to often, but its dying on me so I need a new one, and i have very limited amount of space in my workbag.
I live in Europe, but could order it from abroad.

To bad the Bluetooth Multimeter went out of production

Ps. I work in automation and only handel max 24VDC!
Thanks
Shamba

I use the Benning MM P3 as an everyday carry multimeter.

http://de.benning.de/en/corporate/products-services/testing-measuring-and-safety-instruments/digital-multimeter/benning-mm-p3.html

It's very small and the beeper is very responsive. The batteries last forever.

The original manufacturer is APPA.  It is made in Taiwan.

The Benning is the same size (112x56x12mm). The other measurement is with the black protection case which you don't really need..

I love this. I have tried most of the pen meters out there. At least 5 different kinds. This is by far the smallest. It's half the size of the more common one with the dial on it. For continuity test, pen meter rocks. It's not very loud, though.

The yellow is just a rubber-like case to protect the actual dmm.

What about Brymen BM-27? I always have one in my jacket. Dimensions from datasheet; 113x53x10,2 mm. http://www.tme.eu/en/details/bm27/portable-digital-multimeters/brymen/#

It actually have a nice continuity function, if you are working in noisy factories. Display is ___|| when open, and ----- when short. The buzzer isn't that loud.

I have a Uni-T UT120C for occasional use and it works fine.  It even comes with a clear plastic case that encapsulates the whole meter, making it splash proof.

One snag with these pocket meters is that you are stuck with the probes they come with, and the leads are usually quite short which can make them a bit annoying to use in some situations.  If this will be your only meter, I'd get something like one of the small Brymen meters that use proper test leads.

Thank you all for your replies!
I ended up getting the UNI-T-UT120A as I could get it locally.

Its a bit flimsy to be honest, but at 20€ what can you expect...
Thanks again!!!
