SMD 750

75ohm? http://www.hobby-hour.com/electronics/3-digit-smd-resistors.php

Does it appear damaged? Looks like a burn on the 5. DMM indicates OL out-of-circuit..

It doesn't look damaged really, but you seem to state you measured it out of circuit. If it doesn't measure 75 ohms then it ain't no good, doesn't matter what it looks like.
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.

Wondering if the mark on the 5 is consistent with an open SMD. On desk so kinda concerned that if I push to hard with the probe and the probe slips... away goes the resistor. It will obviously never be found again.  Appears bad, but never hurts to verify by multiple means- experienced EEs and knowledgeable hobbyists here.

Just replace it if you aren't sure - it isn't an expensive part.  :)

...and a week to get here. Verify value and go through the scraps and hope to get really close.

... or stack two 150 ohm ones on top of one another.

(Or any other parallel sets to give you 75 ohms)
