Soldering Surface Mount MCX
« on: November 03, 2017, 03:34:55 pm »
I sheered off a surface mount right angle MCX connector. The solder joints make a clean break so the pads are fine. I do not have any hot air soldering station. Any tips on how I can reconnect this?

Never worked with surface mount MCX but I think hot air reflow is your only option otherwise how do you solder the center pin.

So maybe I will have to order a chinese hot air reflow station anyway... There is a crystal mounted on the other side. I worry about messing it up worse that it is now. I could solder on a coaxial pigtail right now...
