Sudo apt-get update error; raspbian
« on: July 04, 2015, 05:28:31 am »
1. I have RPi2 board with raspbian loaded.
But if I run sudo apt-get update command, it just don't work.
First some packagnes failed & then loading get stuck at 6%.

2. However, if I try to install other packages on internet they work fine.

Hello,
Not to sound rude, you do realise that this is an electronics forum and not a *nix forum.
ubuntuforums and debian forums are the ones where you should be looking.

PS: Granted, people here will help you out eventually but not spoonfeed. Please do your research first and approach if you still cannot find a solution.
Three back-to-back posts wont guarantee faster response.
From the looks of it, you are not having much experience with *nix either. First use the desktop version to get acquainted then
approach the embedded ones like pi and BBB.
If god made us in his image,
and we are this stupid
then....

try to ping to an internet site.
If network is ok, try to use another debian mirror. /etc/apt/sources.list is the key for it

Or even better, at Rpi 'home':  https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/

Then, you also need to explain better the 'failure' in apt-get. Doesn't find the package, is the index outdated (aka run apt-get update first), can't save the package (filesystem full) ?
