Taking a device mobile
« on: January 19, 2017, 05:39:57 pm »
Hey All :)

I have a device that connects to my phone provider, to provide mobile broadband, and would like to look into making it mobile. Right now it uses a power brick (12VDC, 1.5A). I assume that the biggest current draw would be while it's transmitting. How would I hook it up to my scope, to find out what it's power consumption is at it's heaviest, or otherwise if I don't need a scope, just math.

What I'd like to do is make the thing battery operated so I can take it out into the wild. My thoughts are that I use a couple of  11V 2200mAh, hobby batteries with some kind of regulator circuit.

Is this even possible?

Thanks
