Tek 465B needs some minor fixes
« on: January 03, 2013, 07:01:40 am »
Some time ago I finally became a happy owner of an old Tek 465B + DM44.
I've been following W2AEW's tutorials to fully understand the potentiality of analog scopes. Thanks!  :-+

The scope is basically ok, but it has a couple of minor issues:
- one knob is slightly broken
- the probe that comes with it (a P6105) has the pin for the 'Tekprobe' interface that has lot its spring.

So my questions are:
- where can I buy some replacement knobs at a *reasonable* price?
- is there any way to repair the probe pin?
- I'd like to get at least a second probe. Which model would you suggest me to get?

TIA

If you do not  need very fast, I have some (also old Tek465) spare part units and some couple of mixed selection of Tek probes, some broken, some perhaps ok.

But these old things are deep in my scrap storage ("spare part storage") and it may take time to find what you need becous this is not my primary work.

You can PM by finnish.

edit: as BravoV tell one source is Qservice, and with my experience it have been also reliable source.

You're welcome.  You'll find that many of my videos feature the 465B, including the ones that discuss the triggering controls, AC/DC coupling, AUTO trigger mode, ADD/INVERT controls, Rear Panel I/O, etc.
