ultrasonic based voice announcement system

I am working on a project includes ultrasonic sensors and voice guidance. I'm trying to implement a system when there is a object in various distance it will give recorded voice announcements calibrate with the distance.    I need to know new ideas to make this project interesting. whether to use raspberry or ardino and how to program the voice chip. Any Ideas will be very helpful. thanx
