What GSM/GPRS class is my modem?
« on: December 24, 2014, 05:35:13 pm »
Hi all,
SIM900 GPRS modem from SIMCOM is both GPRS class 10 and class 8 compatible.

How can I know what class is used during communication? What interests me the most is the peak pulse current of 2A. In class 8 its 577us, and 1.15ms for class 10. I designing a capacitor bank to deliver the peak power.

Does it depend on my network operator?

Thank you.

Check this product which is designed based on SIM900, it can be used to control door/garage. Very helpful.
