It is a capacitor. It has the modified package type for reduced parasitic inductance (larger solder connection, smaller distance between pads).

I *think* it is a capacitor, and it looks like it is designed to have a low esr, that is why it looks turned 900.
But I have no experience with this so I could be totally wrong  ;)

They are indeed low ESR capacitors.

Would all the capacitors which look similar to it be the same/similar nano-farad rating? Would it matter if I pulled any of the same-sized capacitors from the CPU with more caps missing, and move it to the CPU with only 1 cap missing?

Yeah, that would be the thing to do.

Not at all.

Do that, those are mostly bypass caps they don't really matter.

Next thing... How do I remove flux that has turned dark brown? It's over some of the gold pads near that capacitor.
With alcohol.

I'm afraid of accidentally removing some gold pads.
Don't use excessive force.  Those pads are not that easy to remove even if you wanted to. You are not gona damage them by gently rubbing them with alcohol.

Are you sure that isopropyl alcohol (99%) will remove it?
Of course it will, otherwise entire electronics industry would have really tough time getting anything done :)

Watch your language.

It would have turned on even without that cap.

So it's actually less impressive then I think it is?
I don't know how impressive it is. Those capacitors are providing local power bypass. If you have reasonably designed motherboard, then things will work (or at least try to boot) if you remove most or even all of them. They mostly affect system stability under varying load.
