Will this battery be ok to swap with the dead one?

Hi, my dash cam started turning off randomly and the fault has been traced to a duff battery. What i want to do is change the battery with one that is working so it will not turn off when i am driving.

The one that is in the camera that has bitten the dust is a li-po 3.7v 300mah i have a 3.7v li-on battery that will fit that i have taken it out a bluetooth receiver  I am not sure if it will be safe to put in as i dont want it to blow up. Any help would be great.

The battery might blow up or catch on fire if you connect its polarity backwards or short it. The wires should be red and black on the original and replacement batteries.

Ah, so i can replace the lithium polymer battery that is in the camera with a lithium ion battery i have lying around?

In general yes, but if your jury rigging something, use a protected li-ion cell,

Also be aware that if they are using a charge managing IC like they do in some GPS's (similar devices internally), you will want similar capacity or you may hit a timer limit which means it never charges, if its just a generic charger IC, you could well throw a 2200mah 18650 in a socket on the back and have it last much longer.
