Title: #553 Lichtenberg figures

These are acrylic blocks, irradiated using a particle accelerator.

The irradiation leaves charged pathways in the plastic, which are then discharged, causing fracturing of the  plastic along the discharge path.

This one is 125mm in diameter and about 350mm tall, I acquired it about 30 years ago. It's a superb quality piece, not seen one like it for sale since.

You get a burn right through, that cauterises the flesh in a shape exactly like the beam shape. This then will either fester and get septic ( yummy) or will turn into a solid block of scar tissue. If you are unlucky it will become malignant.

There the beam pretty much was your entire body.......
