It should prove very interesting indeed. Pretty much everything in the preview could have been said about the state of the UK industry too, so I hope it gets a wider audience.

Sounds like it all applies to the U.S. as well. Looking forward to seeing it.

Does anyone have news on this one?
I haven't been able to find more than the trailer and the roll-call video.

Didn't see this topic before. As it's almost 3 years old, I guess we have a full movie yet?

I would think the material, especially the interviews, is outdated now.  Maybe the movie will never happen.

I just spoke to Karl about it the other day (and have video).
There are several issues:
- Money to get it finished, in terms of extra research. He said it would need a full time person 6 months to finish that.
- Money to get rights to use certain stock images etc.
- Approval of people for use of their material. Many of the big business people are still holding out on this.
- He works for a living, which means he is very busy.
- The fact that he's a professional film maker and has a big industry reputation to uphold, which is why he can't release a hack'n'slash version, or just dump what he's got now.
- He's a perfectionist and it's his pet project :-> It's kinda like my USB power supply and other projects. I always come up with new direction to take it, so it never gets finished...

He currently has 6 hours of fully edited and essentially complete footage.

Sorry to hear that, perfectionism is sometimes good but it can be very bad in some cases. :(
Hope this material does not get lost behind a shelf.

About the money, it's complicated, maybe big industry players don't want this stuff to come out anyway. At least at a point they would have interest in endorse it.

Edit: err.... "interest in endorse it" or "interest in endorsing it" (or none of the above! heheh)

So it's been one more year that went past, any news about the movie?
Still looking forward to seeing it :)

I haven't heard anything.
His problem is that he's a well respected filmographer in the industry and as such (he thinks) anything he releases must be absolutely top notch otherwise his professional reputation could suffer.
Also, he has to "play by the rules" when it comes to getting releases, paying for stock footage etc.
At one stage he was talking about crowd funding to get it finished.
